Hit "send" too fast.  I used this:
      SET VAR vDTextE = (GETVAL('GetVolumeID','E:\'))
 

to see if a handheld scanner was attached to the laptop.  Some laptops had a 
CD/DVD drive as drive E:\, but if the scanner was attached it would have 
"OPTICON" as the drive name.

We have:

 

CVAL('CURRDRV')) gives 'X:'

CVAL('CURRDIR')) gives directory name

CVAL('DRIVES')) gives list of drive letters

 

Is there anything which can accomplish something like CVAL('VOLUMENAME'))?
