Yeah, nothing like a corrupted DB to make you rethink the whole backup
scenario!!!

I know several people who have varying methods of making periodic backups
throughout the day. One company does a backup every 3 hrs, and keeps them
around for like a month I think. I can't remember, I think version X has some
kind of backup routine built in?

But in any case, even using a backup usually means you lose data. For people
who believe that nothing should be on paper, there really needs to be some
paper-trail available so you can recreate the work that you have "lost".

Subject: [RBASE-L] - DB corruption

I want to thank all those who helped me in trying to rebuild my corrupted DB.
Through your guidance, the pdf manuals provided by RBASE, using RSCOPE and your
encouragement to continue trying I was able to get the DB back working.
Thankfully we lost a minimum of data. This is the first time I have had a DB
this corrupted and was a definite learning process.
We have a great group on this list.
You are a great help to someone like myself who does the programming side of
things part time.
Thanks again!
