Hi,

I use a barcode TSR called PrintBar and to Print barcodes all you had to do
was place an
@@ in front and back of the text. So I setup an old computer as a DOS Print
server with the TSR running on that computer. when someone printed the
reports that need barcodes I have RBase redirect the printing to that print
server and when the data goes to the printer the TSR catches the @@'s an
replaces them with the barcode.

Good luck trying to get it to work on a Window(anything) system

Subject: Barcode printing...again

How many times have we had "barcode" questions?

Okay, my client just upgraded from an all-DOS workstation,
Novell network to Win98 workstations, Win2000 network.
They are running RBDos 6.1. Send your condolences to....

To print barcodes we are using a program called BarRes
from Worthington Data; it was loaded as a TSR. The program
was purchased in 1993 (yikes!).

>From my STANDALONE laptop, which is also Win98, I am able
to zip out to load the program and it works just fine.
On the new workstations on the network, doing the same
thing doesn't work -- it just prints the text, no barcodes.

Worthington Data has no clue what their 1993 program should
do in this environment and I don't blame them.

Any brilliant ideas?

Karen
