Ben

Steps I am using with tango are..

  1. Direct DBMS action
  2. Select source (Grades ODBC)
  3. Connect As... I just press OK
  4. Select Tables .. (I select 2 tables only Grades, CourseDesc)
  5. The next message I get is
Oterro Connect (for another ODBC connection) and then I press cancel nothing
happens. If I press OK, I will get the error message below.

When I first try to use the ODBC Connection from within Tango it asks me
what tables to use, so I select the only two I want (Grades and CourseDesc).
Both tables are native to the Grades Database.

Grades does use a SCONNECT to OSA and the SATTACH tables are StuData,

Hi Buddy,

So, your saying that the table in main database is the result of an sconnect
to another database?
if you do a list from R:Base does the table shows 'server' instead of row
count?

If the above questions are Yes, I am quite sure that since Tango is not in
control of the odbc connection, that the ODBC request or data is getting
lost.

It is best to let tango control the odbc connections.

you might try using a direct-dbms action to get the data.

I'm getting the following error when trying to set a data source with Tango
editor.

   R:Tango 2000
   Oterro 2000
   Database RBW 6.5++
   Windows 98 SE workstation

OSA database --- names of students and other data.
Grades database -- grades and schedules for students.

I want the students to have access to their grades thru the web.

The problem seems to occur because the Grades database has an odbc to OSA
database.

The reason I say the above is because it will ask me for the name and
password for grades and then I click OK and then the ODBC connection comes
up for the OSA database.

  Can someone else verify this.
