If you print DIRECTLY to the printer, then the printer control codes will
get to the printer and bypass the Windows printing. For example, OUT
\\PK2W\LJ4050-4 ; PRI reportname ; OUT SCR.
Note: \\PK2W\LJ4050-4 is the print server & printer name.

If you use OUT PRI then the current PRNSETUP settings determine what printer
to send it to & uses the Windows fonts for that printer as specified in the
report/field properties.

In the long run it will probably be better to convert to using the Windows
fonts, but you can have it both ways, if you want, by printing directly to
the printer, as specified above, for certain reports and using OUT PRI for
the converted reports.

This would also work if, for example, you want to print a document and have
the settings on the printer control the look of the output.
(\\PK2W\LJ4050-3 ; TYPE MYDOC.CMD ; NEW ; OUT SCR)

Subject: Printer control codes in reports

Hello wizards,

I'm trying to convert some Rbase for DOS reports into Rbase for Windows
Reports. I used to really cool things with printer control codes
embedded in the reports, but that does not seem to work in the Windows
conversion. I tried converting the <27 48> to (char(27))+(char(48)),
but it does not appear to convert directly........the characters appear
different. Any ideas?

TIA!
