To ALL R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5+) Users:

I'm very pleased to inform you all that our Dedicated
and Talented R:Team has FIXED the very old memory leak
issue of printing R:BASE reports under Windows NT/2000.

Our supportive and dedicated beta testers would be able
to test this fix in upcoming beta (Build: 1.840J).

Technical Notes:

The memory leak seems to be related to the poor job
Windows NT/2000 does in re-using memory space that
has been freed. We did not find any memory that was
allocated and not freed when we were done with it.

The report problems seemed to be related to reports
having to do sorts which any report with breakpoints
will do. Reports with no sorting do not show the same
behavior.

Our solution was to allocate a sort buffer up front
and use the same buffer until R:BASE exists rather
than allocate and free each and every time the report
is printed.

My sincere THANKS to ALL Active Beta Testers who
provided the details along with sample files.

Stay tuned for more ...

May you ALL enjoy TGRB2000 (ver 6.5++)!

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.
