Thanks for the suggestion. That is, in fact, exactly the conclusion I
came to
and implemented so users did not have to wait 14+ seconds for the CHOOSE
command to display each time they accessed the function. I forgot to add
that to the write-up.
You probably came to the same net result of 14 seconds every version is
infinitely better than 14 seconds every query.

Sort of the opposite end of the spectrum to an oxymoron. Did you see the
list of oxymorons floating around a few months back? Things like:

Military intelligence
Council worker
and number one on the list:
