Was going to post about this last Friday, but got called away... I
remember a post from Dr:R> a good while back that said the same thing
about the $ character as the # in column names... basically don't use
them. His post was mostly referring to the $ char being used at the end
of a col name like User$. I also have gotten the jist like posted where
that you can use the IDQUOTE setting to surround and get by, but better
to comply. I know I ran into a problem using an ODBC connecttion a year
or two ago when the program I was using - I think it was Data Junction..
didn't like the # sign... Had to shove data into a table without # signs
to get it to work... All in all it's just another ... Better to comply
than deal with the later/present limitations of an older way of doing
things. I guess that's why job markets exist - it always changes so we
can never keep up.
