Wow, I hope you're wrong about that.  I've been storing trailing and 
leading blanks in Text columns since System V.

update table set col1 to 'one trailing blank '

stores differently than

update table set col1 to 'one trailing blank'

I hope.


IMHO this is not a bug, because the problem is not reproduceable. I set up 
two tables as you described and the BROWSE command works fine. You've 
probably got something else going on there - like a corrupted index. I 
believe that you can't even store trailing blanks in a TEXT column.
