Frank,

Using The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows:

01. Taking the advantage of enhanced PRNSETUP and new
(CVAL('CurrentPrinter')) function, automate your windows
report to create a PDF file (behind the scene).

02. Know your default e-mail program tags and then:

Use the LAUNCH command to automate the process.

For Example (getting e-mail address and filling To: option)

SET VAR vMailTo TEXT = NULL
SET VAR vCustID INTEGER = 2001
SELECT ('mailto:'+EMailAddress) INTO vMailTo INDIC IvMailTo +
FROM Contacts WHERE CustId = .vCustID
LAUNCH .vMailTo

That will launch default e-mail program with filled in To:

You could follow the same scenario for other e-mail tags,
such as:

Subject:
Cc:
Bcc:

We are working on few COOL samples to included with 6.5++!

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.

I have been reading with much enthusiasm about the ability to launch email
directly from RBase. After checking out the syntax on the web, I was looking
for some help in understanding this command a little better. My company has
been asking for months for a way to Email RBase reports to customers.
Looking at the Launch Command I understand how to set the mail to, but could
you elaborate more on how (or if) I can automatically attach an R:base
report to the email. Also it seems like this command could be used in
conjunction with a fax program to automatically fax reports, but same
question, how to I attach the report to go with the fax. Thanks -- Frank
