Odds are pretty good that the print job is using a command syntax such as
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /c COPY printjob.txt LPT1
What you need to do is modify the print code to pick up the actual com spec
SET VAR vCommand = (ENVVAL('COMSPEC') & '/C COPY printjob.txt LPT1')
&vCommand
Second choice is that the tech didn't map the printer properly for DOS sessions.
