Ok, you got me curious.
In R:base for DOS, this works:

R>zip command /c start 'C:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\crw+
32.exe' 'c:\my documents\artists.rpt'

You need to tweek this a little for R:base for Windows.  I think you take out 
the "command /c".
