Zip, Launch Command Question

I am using RBase 6.5 + for windows, and the zip command is the only
option for running/calling external programs while inside RBase.  Using
the zip command works but it hides RBase until the external program is
exited.  I would like to know if the launch command (in RBase 6.5 ++)
does the same or if it runs the external program and still lets you work
in RBase at the same time?
