Dear David,
Having managed a team of up to 16 sales persons I have subjective reality on
the fact that the best salespersons are at best ordinary record keepers.
Add to that the fact that I would want them prospecting and selling rather
than
doing data entry.
Therefore I would see a viable option would be to allow them access to all the
data they need to perform their job and allow them to add new records to empty
copies of the key tables that would be imported into the main database on
the weekly update.
It would not be too much work at all to create an import routine from the copy
tables. This would work best if changed addresses, contacts etc were a minor
task that could be imparted to a data entry person.
