GETDATE -- returns a number???

G-Day all

I tried the syntax:

for the first time today and come up with
something interesting.. not sure it suppose
to look like this or not..
I got a number 2191694. to represent today's date.
What do you all get?

Do I have some other setting wrong?
My date settings are the same I user for other apps:
SET DATE FORMAT MM/DD/YYYY
SET DATE SEQUENCE mmddyy
SET DATE CENTURY 19
SET DATE YEAR 20
