'?subject=' + .subj    worked, thank you.  but why the question mark in front of subject?
so then I tried    + '?message=' + .messg and that just put the message in the subject line right after the real subject.
I also tried it without the ?, same result.
So what is the keyword for message?
While your at it, how about attachment?  any others?

How do you launch email with to: Subject:
Message: all filled out. No problem using 'mailto:' but how
do I get the rest automatically filled in? Bernie Lis Megabytes, Inc.

Bernie,

If you using The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows,
then:

Example:

In a command file or EEP:

SET VAR vEMailAddress TEXT = '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'
SET VAR vSubject TEXT = 'Automated E-Mail Using TGRB2000'
SET VAR vEMailSubj TEXT = ('mailto:'+.vEMailAddress+'?Subject='+.vSubject)

LAUNCH .vEMailSubj

There you have it ...

Launch will start your default e-mail program, such as, Outlook, Eudora, etc.

For more details:

01. Check out the NewStuff Demo provided with TGRB2000 6.5++.

Database: NewStuff
Startup Command: NewStuff.DAT
Associated Form: NewCommands (NewPhoneCommand)
Button: Send E-Mail
Associated EEP: EMail.EEP
