Yes, your are rigth ... but Euro symbol can't be displayed nor printed
with SHOW VAR or WRITE or SELECT ...

I would not be pesimistic, but I 'smell' a big problem there ...
I'm not sure, but I wander if (CHAR(128)) is not use for internal purpose
in RBW (NULL coding) ...
