Hola Manuel, Como Estas?

Many thanks for your quick reply

The problem came about because, unusually, the DB was left connected overnight and in a Form.
We are based on an industrial estate and possibly a power drop / surge must caused a problem.

On arriving this morning the Flying Through Space Screensaver was frozen - no keyboard/no mouse.

Since my 1st mail, have switched off/on,  changed attributes,  on/off again.  No change

Finally resorted to Norton Disc Doctor  which created 3 files FILE0000_dd, FILE0001_dd and FILE0002_dd

Files 00 and 01 contained mainly symbols and the like.
File03 caontained symbols but also fragmented data from the table probably still active in a form when the m/c went down.

However, at least I can now access the DB

LISTing that table shows roughly the number of rows I would expect following new data additions.

EDIT * FROM brings up the EDIT ERROR Box stating 'No Qualifying rows found'.

EDIT * FROM WHERE COUNT = LAST bring us a message box saying 'ERROR I/O Problems check for full disk (2009)'

Fortunately I have a copy of each of the DB Files which is 2 days old now but which is 100% OK
My thinking was to delete the rows from the damaged table, SCONNECT and do the business.
However Delete ROWS from that table will not work either - So I guess I have a corrupt DB

Just after receiving your Mail, Neil Smith (Aspen Software) phoned (isn't that brilliant !) with several suggestions and I'm about to work through those, but wanted to thank you first.  What a List !!.

Manuel, muchas gracias otra vez - Adios y via con Dios

Hello David,
It sound like the database files have a system lock.  Normally it is release by turning the computer where the files reside off and back on.  You already tried this.  See if you can change the attributes and if you can move the database to a different folder.  Have you performed scandisk?  Can you connect with RScope?
I hope this help.  For now I am going to bed.  I will follow this thread tomorrow and I hope I get other ideas that might help you.
Good Luck,
Manuel
