Lets leave politics off this list. This is the wrong forum.Back in August, in an effort to keep this
type of stuff off the rStreet list, I created
a new list where my fellow R:BASE'rs
could talk about anything that comes to
mind.
I have enjoyed "off-topic" discussions
with R:BASE people on a variety of
subjects. Even though I don't agree
with all of what's said, I respect and
enjoy the differences of opinion that
get shared. But a list intended for
technical discussion is not the place for
this type of conversation.
Below is a copy of the message I posted,
inviting people to join a forum for "off-topic"
stuff:
====================================
Hello Everyone,
I finally got around to creating a new
e-mail group for those of us who like
to discuss things that really don't matter
all that much. Think of this list as a
lunch
or dinner table conversation at a restaurant
across the street from an R:BASE developer
conference.
This is a place where we can talk
about Gary Condit, Chandra Levy,
the Energy Crisis, Bill Clinton, George
W. Bush, etc... and nobody will get
upset about it. It's a place where you
can
get together with fellow R:BASE'ers
and talk about anything... All the
stuff you really shouldn't junk up this
or any other list with.
I understand that not everyone would
want to join such a list and that's why
I created it. But if you enjoy a good
discussion and you enjoy the company
of your fellow R:BASE people, this should
become a real fun place to stop in for a
little education about life and a good
argument here and there.
The only rules are that you must be polite
and respectful of others. Other than that,
you can have your say and nothing is off
topic.
