Hi all,
I'd appreciate a general opinion from those that have experience of
either/both as to a preference for one or the other.
My company is NT server-based and is likely to stay that way for a while
yet.
I am getting slowly (well, not so slowly) more hacked off at the problems I
seem to have with my WinME machine. (Generally to do with memory leakage it
would appear). The machine just starts to grind to a halt after a
continuous period of usage (that usage is within a single day), running
Rbase 4.5++, RBW6.5+ and Exchange client 5.0.
I had been told that WinME was the 'finished' version of Win98, and as such
have retained all of my Win98 settings, so I don't think it's an obvious
memory/application setup problem. Any tips, however, are greatly
appreciated.
Typically, my next (workstation) purchase will be a P4 1.5GHz machine with
256MB of RAM, and the usual other components.
So, in terms of performance and stability
W98/ME or WinNT?
I appreciate this is off-topic, so if all responses could be directed to my
home account, I'd appreciate it. That's the one below.
