Bernie / Scott,

Many thanks for your replies. Strange, because mails have got through first
time every other time via my ISP.

Talking with friend over the weekend I hadn't seen for ages. He's now a
senior security advisor for some obscure UK Government org. Quickly got
around to recent events in the US and info available on the Net...

I was amazed when he said the net was being also 'trawled' and certain
'key-words' had been introduced into ISP's software world-wide which sent
copies of all mail containing those 'key-words' to a non-uk Agency.
Presumably looking for leads ? I said I couldn't believe it - his reply was
'Get real !'

If that is true - Free speech ! Forget it. But the more I've thought about
this, we could all easily do something like this on software we have written
/ sold on / manage. Just scale it up and fully automate it.

My mind has been working overtime and I've also realised that we all grab at
each opportunity to take on the latest technology which always promises more
'personal freedom' usually 'time' freedom - and it usually does. But when
you think about it, the reality is that each new 'toy' further reduces our
'personal freedom' by introducing ever more 'traceability' !!!

I know its doesn't form part of the list but felt it such a shocker it was
worth a mention. Maybe someone took a dislike to my subject matter to Tom.

Will keep trying...

David
