I thank you both Ben & David for your courteous help, and I had no problem in implementing things and it works fine.
David to the second Item where I was not to clear in my expressions, what I wanted to do was,
Calculate the interest on a deposit over a 12 month (365 days) period. However the beginning Date could vary from individual to individual, but the End date is constant. Ben was kind enough to send me a formula which looks to be the one I need, I have not tested it yet, will do that today.
I have purchased Inside Rbase by Anne Gilliham, It seems to me this was meant for advanced Users and is a bit over my head. Does anyone know if there are some books available for beginners? I remember Rbase 4 or 5 had manuals which where easily to follow. If someone has any information I would appreciate it very much to be informed.
