Chapter: Running R:BASE Your Way!
Platform: R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows
Build: 1.843xRT03 and Higher
====================================================================
Many times, you may wish that the wonderful form you have designed
to ENTER or EDIT records could also be used to BROWSE the data
without having the user ability to edit data.
Guess what?
The upcoming inline patch-1 for The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++)
for Windows, Build: 1.843xRT03, to be released soon, will support
the BROWSE USING FormName command!
Syntax:
BROWSE USING FormName WHERE ... ORDER BY ... CAPTION ' ' NOHEADER
The BROWSE USING FormName ... command will make all Column/Variable
Objects on the form READ ONLY.
Example 01:
01. Launch R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++), Build: 1.844 for Windows
02. At the R> Prompt, change the current directory to:
\RBTI\RBWIN65\SAMPLES\CONCOMP
03. CONNect Concomp
SET CAPTION ' '
SET NULL ' '
CLEAR ALL VARIABLES
SET VAR RBTI_NoStatus INTEGER = 1
SET RBGSIZE CENTER CENTER 800 600
04. -- To ENTER new product information
ENTER USING Product CAPTION 'New Products' NOHEADER
05. -- To EDIT existing product information
EDIT USING Product WHERE Model = 'CX3000' NOHEADER
06. -- To BROWSE existing product information using SAME form
BROWSE USING Product WHERE Model = 'CX3000' NOHEADER
Notes:
. The Form Settings must include the option of "Editing Data".
. Only Column and Variable Objects are supported for READ ONLY
mode when using BROWSE USING FormName command.
. Same Form could be used for ENTER/EDITing data accordingly.
May you ALL enjoy the New Commands, Enhancements, Features
and Bug-Fixes in TGRB2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows, Build:1.844.
The BEST is yet to come ...
Very Best Regards,
Razzak.
