A standalone computer running RB6.5++ using WIN2000 Pro, get the following
for DIR:
at c:\>, DIR shows 815 million bytes free
in RBase 6.5++ (DOS), DIR shows 404 million bytes free
in RBase 6.5++ (WIN), DIR shows 815 million bytes free
in RBase 6.5++ (DOS), ZIP COMMAND /C DIR shows 404 million bytes free
but ZIP CMD /C DIR shows 815 million bytes
free
Why does the DIR command in the DOS RB6.5++ and ZIP COMMAND /C DIR both show
about 1/2 the free bytes?
Also, ENVVAL('COMSPEC')) in RBase 6.5++ DOS evaluates to
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\COMMAND.COM
Does the DIR command in RB DOS use COMMAND instead of CMD?
Should 'COMSPEC' evaluate to CMD.EXE? If so, how does one do this? Is this
controlled by the DOS4GW file?
