The % is part of the FORMAT command it means Set letters to uppercase and all others are unchanged

Subject: Problem with FORMAT function

Dear R:Base Friends

This expression in R:Base for DOS used to show ONE decimcal followed by a percent sign at the end of the result, as desired.  It no longer does under R:Base for WIndows.  Instead it shows TWO decimal places.  Anyone know why? (It's not the SET MULTI setting: changing it has no effect)

SELECT Movie, LPrice, Cost (FORMAT((100 * (LPrice * Cost) / Cost), '[>]990.0%')) FROM Movies
