Subject: SATTACH and columns names with more than 18 characters

October 30th, 2001

To ALL R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows Users:

I am pleased to inform you all that the upcoming inline patch-1
for The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows will include
the support to ALIAS column name(s) when using SATTACH TableName
command.

The enhanced SATTACH TableName command will automatically ALIAS
any column(s) with more than 18 characters or long columns names
with spaces.

This ENHANCEMENT will allow our CURRENT and LOYAL R:BASE Users
and Developers to IMPORT any table(s) from foreign data sources
using ODBC functionality.

The inline patch-1 for standard and runtime versions will be
FREE for all R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows users!

You MUST have R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++), Build: 1.842xRT03 to
apply this inline patch.

Richard Young (Advanced Business Systems), Buddy Walker
(University of Pittsburgh) and my lovely Federal Government
Customers ... this one is for you!

Stay tuned for more ...

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.
