I guess I'm one of a number of people who never thought to use a keymap to copy a variable before but it could be a very useful trick.
I haven't tried it yet but if .#date can be mapped then, presumably, any dotted variable can also be mapped. If so it should be possible to write code that would map the last data written which could then be duplicated with the mapped key where needed without having to use [Ctrl][Ins] first. Perhaps even have a button on a form that when activated copies the entry in a field for use in another row. Sometimes it can be a pain entering data for a dozen rows then it changes for another dozen and so on but using the DUP function is not desirable for some reason. Probably just another crazy idea - even if it works - but somebody might find it useful.
