Jim, You have both choices in your design. Actually, from the DOS menus, you don't have a choice, it automatically creates a NOT NULL constraint, but with CREATE or ALTER commands, or from the Win Object Manager, you have a choice to add the NOT NULL constraint. In the Object Manager, it's a check box in the column definition.
