I've used HP, have a Compaq Proliant, and have used, and have, a couple of
clones. The HP just kept on ticking until the hard drive crashed during a
move, a few months after warranty. SInce our usage had pretty much tripled
in that time, and I knew that we soon going to put even more load, we
decided to get a new, higher end server. We wound up with a Compaq
Proliant, which we've had for a couple of years. The thing is rock solid.
I haven't needed support on it. But then again, my clones have been rock
solid, too. Enough so that I'm seriously considering putting our
accounting system on one of those clones.
