I agree.  If you don't have Zone Alarm, get it NOW. There is a free version
but I think the purchased version is worth the cost. And NEVER run without
antivirus software installed. AND download updates to your virus definitions
weekly, if not more often.  Be religious about it.

Both of my computers stopped the viruses dead.  Zone alarm renames
suspicions email attachment extensions so they will not get executed without
your interverntion.  Norton antivirus finds embedded code and cleans the
emails before you see them.

goner32 is not a myth.  I know that.  The proposed "remedy" is.  The ONLY
way to keep yourself protected is to use an up to date scanner AND firewall
that monitors OUTGOING traffic, AND to practice safe e-mail (eg deleting
any unexpected, unverified files without even trying to scan it.)
