Stan I just spoke to Rb sales; yes Rb is compatible with WinXP if you got the proper disk. I apparently have an older disk prior to the change. Thanks for the input Herb

That's strange if you installed using the R:Base for Windows 6.5++ CD because RBTI Sales told me that the CD version should work with Windows XP without problem. I have not purchased R:Base for Windows 6.5++, but had no problem installing both R:Base for Windows 6.5+ and Oterro 2000 (version 2.0) under Windows XP Professional. Furthermore, R:Base 6.5+ seems to be working well, and I can also set up ODBC data sources using Oterro under Windows XP. I did not encounter any error message during installation. I had a clean Windows XP installation too. The only problem I have had seems to be related to Office XP, not Windows XP. In Office XP, I have not been able to connect to an R:Base ODBC data source (running under Windows XP Professional). The following MS Query error message pops up: "Microsoft Query has encountered a problem and needs to close". I know Oterro works well with Office 2000, but does not seem to work with Office XP. All settings in the Oterro.CFG are identical in both situations. I posted this problem a week ago, but did not receive any response from RBTI or this list. Maybe not too many of us are using Office XP or Windows XP.
