Tricia,

Among many enhancements, new commands and bug-fixes, R:BASE 2000
(version 6.5) and higher also offers the peace of mind of not
dealing with the "Already Logged" messages and maintaining the
SERVER6.RBG file and RBADMIN. Those long standing issues were
resolved with the release of The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5)
released on February 14, 2000.

I would suggest that you immediately switch over to R:BASE 2000
(ver 6.5++) for Windows to avoid such issues.

You will NEVER regret staying CURRENT!

Using The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++), you don't need to
customize individual RBASE.CFG files for concurrent access.

Our Telecommunications office is currently using R:base 6.1a for windows. We have 6 users, and we're using a Novel server, and windows 2000. For the past several months, we've had a frustrating problem with R:base not opening and not shutting down properly. When we click on the desk top icon to open r:base, we'll get the hour glass and then it will disappear, we click on the icon again and r:base will open, but several minutes later we get an error message saying the user is already logged on to r:base. The same thing happens when we shut down, we'll disconnect from r:base and then go to the r:base admin., and it will show we are still logged on. Often times this will cause our computers to lock up and we have to reboot. It's become a very frustrating problem for our users. We have just bought r:base 6.5++ for windows along with the server package, and we are ready to upgrade. Can anyone offer advice, so we can avoid this problem in the future. We are currently running two r:base databases with different paths, could this contribute to our problem? Tricia
