Create the variable with the totals.  Then create another variable that
uses either the ifeq or ifgt functions.  If the TotalVariable = 0, then
displayVariable = blank, else displayVariable = ctxt(.TotalVariable) 
Obviously I did not use exact syntax, but I think you get the idea.  I use
this on several reports.
