Excel Spreadsheet for Database Access
============================
I've noticed a lot of posts here lately about
R:BASE and Excel. I have something that
may be of interest and I'd be happy to send
a copy of it to anyone who asks for it. (please
send private e-mails only)

I have an Excel spreadsheet that has a text
box at the top of it. You would type your
SQL statement into that text box and then
hit [Enter] and the results of the query are
then written to the cells in the spreadsheet.

There are also buttons just below the text
box that are labeled:

"SQL>" Executes the SQL statement
""DB Info" Shows the structure of the DB
"Change DSN" Goes to a GUI interface that allows you
to change the Data Source Name
"Calendar" Pops up a calendar
"CLS" Clears all the cells

This is like having the R> prompt and Excel all in
one package.

This spreadsheet not only works with R:BASE
but it will work with other ODBC databases as
well. I've tested it with R:BASE, Access, MySQL...

If you'd like a copy of this Excel spreadsheet,
send me a private e-mail and I'll get you a copy.
