I think I have discovered some more info on the pause problem mentioned
below:

I'm guessing, but I suspect that the syntax for pause 4 doesn't like not
having an existing pause 3 on which to hang itself - and I mean that in the
positioning sense!! It's almost as if pause 4 should not have the
possibility for an "AT" parameter - which is not unreasonable as it is
changing the text of an existing message. ("You're telling me to replace the
text in this box at this position but you've moved the box already, you
jerk!")

In other words, you have to have an existing pause 3 on the screen to be
able to use pause 4 - you can't use pause 4 to start your sequence of
messages AND the AT parameter is redundant for pause 4.

Therefore, if the user clears the pause 3 message from the screen then pause
4 throws a wobbly!

Would anybody like to confirm or reject this hypothesis?
