I am trying to import the data contained on a "log" file into Rbase. The problem is that the log file contains both hex and ascii characters. In addition, the record length is 2048 bytes. I am looking for a way to read the file and break it into lines that are 2048 bytes so that I can load it into Rbase using the "as formatted" method. There is no need to convert the hex values since the information that I need from the file is already in ascii . Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
