Hi

This can be tough to answer without knowing all your software.
but with the added security in firewalls and anti-virus a new side is
shaping up. that is the spyware side
and there are some pretty nasty ones that are installing without your
knowledge.
I have Installed and have used

AdAware version 5.62 ($15.00 licensed)
you can get a free version, but I recommend the licensed because of the
added always running utility called adwatch)

This will get rid of any baddies, before you have to try to figure out the
rest of what is running ;-)

Subject: Off topic, win 98 stuff

Does anybody know all about the programs that are running in the background
on
Win98? Are they all necessary? Is there a place to look that up? When I
do a
3 finger salute, I see all sorts of programs running, even multiple times,
and I
see these same files running on different computers, so I presume it is
related
to the OS, but I don't know what is safe to turn off!
