In a Tango application, I use a product called HTMLDOC,
www.easysw.com, which has a command line interface. Unfortunately,
it doesn't work like a printer driver. It converts HTML into PDF (or
postscript). Your R:Base application would have to write HTML, then
convert that to PDF. The free download does NOT include the
command line interface. You have to buy the minimum
support/download plan to get that.
Also, PDFFactory from www.softwarelabs.com looks like it has
features to help you: "Advanced file naming options: Allows easy
default selection of file names so that in most instances it is not
necessary to type a file name." "Unattended operation: Can be set up
to generate PDFs without any user interface. "
