I would like to take this opportunity to
let everyone here know about the rStreet
list. The list was created to serve as a
backup to the RBTI list -- so we'd all
have a place to go if there were technical
difficulties on sonetmail.

More importantly, the rStreet list exists
in the spirit of the original RBASE-L list,
created by Harry Bass to provide a
balanced perspective and a medium of
communication not controlled directly or
indirectly by Microrim. Mr. Bass intended
it as a list that would be free of cheer leading
or other unfair influence.

I was involved with that list starting in about
1994 and was moderator for a number of
years. I never once unsubscribed anyone nor
did I ever publicly embarrass anyone about
their conduct on the list. Things were always
kept cordial with gentle reminders via private
e-mail.

I invite anyone to come and join us if you
have not already done so.
