This was an old bug, that was repaired in a Nov 2001 patch. From the file
rb65pp1.txt in your own R:Base for Windows directory:
November 22, 2001
R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) for Windows Build: 1.846xRT03 (Inline Patch-1)
05. TRACE/Debugger - F5 & F10 - have to be hit twice (#1813, #1830) -
Fixed
Whenever I run the tracer in 6.5++, I have to press the F5 or F10
twice to actually execute the line. I get a BEEP the first time it
press the key; it executes fine the second time.
