I hope this one is simple and I think it should be, but I don't have a clear indication from any of my doc's, current on-line or old paper.
When using a SWITCH(VARName) statement, does it make any difference whether or not a variable is "dotted". It seems that it works either way, but that alone engenders a certain degree of incredulity, perhaps even that dreaded cognitive dissonance. After all, it is a computer, so this appears to be a de facto kind of parallel polymorphism - hope y'all liked that one.
