Damon, Have you tried putting FORMATTED at the end of your choose?
CHOOSE SSOrdNmb FROM #VALUES FOR ((format(Partnmbr,'%%%%%%%%%%%%%%')) & (FORMAT(CUSTCode,'%%%%%%%')) & (Ctxt(OrderQty)) & (Ctxt(Duedate))) from Ordentry where balncdue > 0 order by partnmbr, custcode, duedate FORMATTED Hope this helps RS -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, April 30, 2002 8:57 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Choose Part 2 - Text Formatting As we have discussed the Choose command, I have another question. Is there a way to specify the width of a text field in a choose command? I've used the format command, i.e. CHOOSE SSOrdNmb FROM #VALUES FOR ((format(Partnmbr,'%%%%%%%%%%%%%%')) & (FORMAT(CUSTCode,'%%%%%%%')) & (Ctxt(OrderQty)) & (Ctxt(Duedate))) from Ordentry where balncdue > 0 order by partnmbr, custcode, duedate However, I still get varying lengths of text depending on the number of characters in the data set. Is there a fix for this? Data on the Partnmbr column can vary from 4 to 14 characters, and it would be REAL nice if I could make all of the columns align. Or should I just ask "Wouldn't it be nice if we could define data spacing on choose and select statements?" TIA Damon Damon D.
