For one thing, you need to select the Oterro driver in ODBC management,
instead of the R:Base driver.

No

Yes

Where ever you want, but has to be on the same server as R:Tango. The
Odbc setup is the link between R:Tango and the R:Base database

You will need to install oterro on the workstation and create an odbc
name on your workstation the is the same as the setup on the server, but
you point your workstation odbc to the database on the server. if you
want develop on the workstation and deploy on the server.

Hope this helps

Subject: R:Tango 2000 Win2K setup

Another questions about R:Tango setup on the server..

I have been going through the R:Tango tutorials. I create the taf files
on
my workstation and transfer them to my server to execute and the section
"A"
tutorial worked fine. I got to the section on Data Sources and am
confused.
I don't find a Music database. Maybe there isn't one.

Anyway, I want to ask you about the best setup on the server.

Currently my folder structure is as follows:

U:\
  Inetpub
    wwwroot
      samplesite
  RBTI
    Oterro25
      HTMLHelp
      Samples
    RTango2000
      Configuration
      Java
      Tutorial
      XML

Is the RBTI folder supposed to be a subfolder of wwwroot or samplesite
or is
it ok where it is at?

Where do you recommend placing the database RBx files?

In Tutorial "B", they discuss Creating a Data Source. I select
"DataSource",
"New", "File Data Source", "R:Base Data Driver", enter "test" for the
name
of the file data source. It then wouldn't let me enter a Data Source
Name,
but I entered the full path to the RB1 file for test, a userid and
password.

It creates a .dsn file under Program Files\Common Files\OBDC\Data
Sources on
my work station, but doesn't list the Data Source in the "Workspace"
window.
What am I doing wrong?

How do I set this Data Source for the actual server or can you point me
to
where the documentation is to tell me how to do this?

Any server security suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Also what are the userids and passwords for ConComp and OT2KBluzVan?

I assume OT2KBluzVan is a demo database. Is there a tutorial for this?

Thanks
