From a R:Tango application, I need to send a text string to a particular IP and port (on the same machine actually) where there is a program "listening" on that port for this transaction string. My R:Tango application then needs to wait on a short response string back from that program. I will display a page based on that response string. The question is how do I possibly accomplish this. Do I need to create a cgi program or executable to do this? Can Tango simply send a string to a particular ip:port and wait on the response?
