Subject: Routing to a IP in Tango

I hope I can articulate this question properly...

From a R:Tango application, I need to send a text string to a
particular
IP and port (on the same machine actually) where there is a program
"listening" on that port for this transaction string. My R:Tango
application then needs to wait on a short response string back from that

program. I will display a page based on that response string.

The question is how do I possibly accomplish this. Do I need to create a

cgi program or executable to do this? Can Tango simply send a string to
a
particular ip:port and wait on the response?

Regards,

Thom Cimicato
