Bob -

Check the view definition that the report is based upon. If the field names
are saved as "tablename.columnname" and the length of this "field name"
exceeds 18 characters, it will cause the fields to disappear, as you have
seen. If that's the case, re-define the view to use alias names, then place
those on the report. The alias names can be the same as the field names -
but without the table designation.

Subject: Report Oddity

Rbase 6.5++ Win.

I have used the report generator on several reports and am fairly
familar with it, but have ran across a problem that is weirding me
out!

I have a report that has several variable objects and a few text
boxes. I place column objects on the report as normal and then
save the report. When I print the report, the column fields do not
show up. I go back into the report generator and the column
fields are all gone. All the calculation variables work fine and display
when printing. So I add the column objects back and save the report
and immediately go back into the report generator and the columns are
all gone. No error messages or anything.

I tried copying the report, and the copy acts the same. Other reports based
on the same driving table work OK. I added additional variable objects
and they "stay" OK. All objects work except column on this report.

Pretty bizzare! Anyone else seen this?
