Hello
Razzak,
After
browsing this email a question comes to mind.
Is it
absolutely necessary to use the "Set Multi Off / Set Multi On" when reloading a
database?
I have
never used the "Set Multi Off / Set Multi On" commands when reloading my
databases.
Thanks
Rich

I would like to unload and Reload 2 small databases and I

An example would be appreciated, since Im a novice.
Herbert,
Simple example of UNLOAD:
At the mighty R> prompt or in a command file:
SET MULTI OFF
CONNect DBName IDENTIFIED BY ownerpassword
SET NULL -0-
OUTP DBBackup.UNL
UNLOAD ALL
OUTP SCREEN
DISConnect
DELETE DbBackup.RB?
RENAME DBName.RB? DBBackup.RB?
INPUT DBBackup.UNL
DISConnect
SET MULTI ON
CONNect DBName IDENTIFIED BY ownerpassword
Simple example of RELOAD:
At the mighty R> prompt or in a command file:
SET MULTI OFF
CONNect DBName IDENTIFIED BY ownerpassword
DELETE DbBackup.RB?
RELOAD DbBackup
DISConnect
DELETE DBName.RB?
RENAME DBBackup.RB? DBName.RB?
SET MULTI ON
CONNect DBName IDENTIFIED BY ownerpassword
