Steve, 2 months use on my Toshiba laptop--very stable with RBDos 6.5 and runs it well and fast.
However, other software does not do well on it (Eudoro email is extremely sluggish, for instance). There's a lot of "features" built in that use up RAM and *major* chunks of hard disk space as Bill mentioned (see http://www.monroeworld.com/pcgoodies/winxp.php ). Also numerous 'automatic' update thingys going on if you are connected to the internet that happen without your knowledge or consent unless you happen to figure out how to turn them off. I've noticed some slowdown in the OS lately also. For instance, when I right-click on my R:Base Icon on the desktop, and click on Properties, it takes 15 seconds for the box to display! Cause? Who knows--nothing going on in the Task Mgr, and I've defragged the harddisk, etc. to no effect. I plan to upgrade to Win2K.
