I have found one case that gets you this error message.

if you have a table with a text (1) column and 
have the null symbol set to -0-
and the column in the table has null values
If you do a unload the table and then load it you get this error
message.

If you change the null symbol to a single character like ^
and then do the unload and then inout I don't get the message.

In both cases the data in the table is correct, just the first method
gets you error messages.
