I agree with your statement about other software. I had a problem with
Norton protected recycle bin causing problems with a software program's temp
files. Soon as I disabled Norton it worked great!!

Hopefully, Crashguard is a better product than it was a few years ago.  I
removed it from a machine as it was causing as much problem as it was
supposed to stop.  But again, if you are running a lot of background
processes on a machine that is not based on NT, you cannot point the finger
at RBase until you can replicate the problem on the machine with only
"Systray" and "Explorer" running in the Task Manager.  There is much
software written that does not do a proper job of allocating memory and
cleaning up after itself that can cause problems for other programs.
