Are you using the CHKBOX option for the CHOOSE command where you can
select more than one option? I believe that when you use this option, the
different items selected are truncated; also, you can specify how many lines
to display and up to how many items you are allowed to select. The syntax
in your command does not appear to indicate that you are using this option;
however; the answer appears to indicate that you are selecting more than one
option.

Subject: Re: Q. about CHOOSE command

Ron, Tom :

Well that's one place the manual and I disagree for the very reason
Ron mentions. As the var from the CHOOSE cmd is often a non-text
value I make it a habit to always set the var to TEXT = NULL immediately
prior to the CHOOSE.
<<

I always predefine my variables :

SET var vchoix TEXT = NULL
....
CREATE TEMPORARY VIEW vt_cloture +
    (liste, dateope) +
    AS SELECT +
    (LISTOF(cdeclarant)), +
    dateope +
FROM declarant WHERE ..... GROUPED BY dateope
 ...
CHOOSE vchoix FROM #VALUE FOR +
    (CTXT(dateope) & '(' + liste + ')'), liste +
    FROM vt_cloture ORDER BY dateope AT 10, 20 +
TITLE 'Choisir la date a reouvrir :' +
    CAPTION .vcaption LINE 10
 ....

Column 'liste' display correctly (full length) in the CHOOSE list, but
what is returned
in variable 'vchoix' is troncated to 20 char. (only the first 5 item
separated by 4 commas, like AAAA,BBBB,CCCC,DDDD,FFFF)
